The Healing Time of Your Implant

After comprehensive diagnostics and planning, we place the implant into the jawbone on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. During an individual healing phase of usually six to twelve weeks, the bone bonds firmly with the implant.

During this phase, we usually provide you with a temporary denture. Once healing is complete, the implant takes over the function of an artificial tooth root and forms a stable foundation for crowns, bridges, or dentures.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the healing period for a dental implant take?
The healing phase usually takes six to twelve weeks, during which the bone fuses firmly with the implant. The exact duration depends on the individual jaw region and bone quality.
Will I have a visible gap during the healing period?
As a rule, we provide you with a temporary tooth replacement during the healing phase, so no noticeable gap appears.
What happens after the implant's healing period?
Once healing is complete, the implant takes on the function of an artificial tooth root and forms the stable foundation for the final crown, bridge or denture.

Greater Safety Thanks to 3D Planning

We plan implant placements digitally on screen in advance as standard practice. Three-dimensional planning based on 3D X-ray images (CBCT) allows for safer procedures and optimal use of the available bone. The appropriate implant system and exact alignment can also be determined before the procedure. Combined with drilling templates, 3D planning enables safe, minimally invasive implantation.
